Managing Director
Rob Stewart

Rob became Managing Director of RGA in January 2020, following the retirement of the Company’s founder, Stephen Ross-Gower.
A Chartered Structural Engineer, Rob joined the practice as a Director in 2013 after having spent five years on the Island managing the structural department of a large design and build developer, which role involved the design of several large residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on load-bearing masonry construction, RC transfer slabs, and piled foundations.
In 2019, Rob became chairman of the Jersey Federation of Consulting Engineers.
Prior to relocating to Jersey, Rob has had a varied international career spanning over 15 years. His formative years were spent working for a large consultancy in London before moving to Spain to work with a high-profile architect, designing a range of projects from sculptures to movable bridges.
He then moved to the USA to work for a large structural engineering consultancy, gaining valuable experience in areas such as high-rise, earthquake engineering, and post-tensioned concrete.
Rob’s career path to date has resulted in him having a well-rounded and broad scope of experience, which is well suited to the varied demands of working within the practice. He also likes to keep a strong emphasis on the latest analysis and design software, including finite element analysis and building information modelling, (BIM).
Rob is a Certified Checking Engineer under the registration scheme operated by SER.
Away from the office, he is kept busy raising a young family and is also a keen golfer.
