CPS Orphanage Nepal: Update

You may recall from our Christmas emails that one half of our donation in lieu of sending cards is made to an overseas charity, in our case to CPS Orphanage in Nepal.  It is a registered UK Charity run by three ex-Army wives, one of whom we know as they live in Jersey.

I am delighted to be able to tell you that all of the children are safe and not injured.  By pure chance they had all been taken to one of Kathmandu’s main parks for a picnic when the earthquake happened.  However one of the two Houses has been damaged and they are all now living in the other House.  We also hope power and water will be restored soon.

We have been very proud of our support for this small Charity and over the years have seen it offer support and education to several young children who would otherwise not be properly cared for or educated.  We are so relieved they are all safe.

Stephen
