Ross-Gower Associates was established following Mr Stephen Ross-Gower setting up as a sole practitioner in 1981. Work at that stage was relatively modest domestic work, structural surveys and miscellaneous civil engineering works. From that base the practice has grown to now be 10 strong with 4 Directors, all Chartered Engineers including Stephen Ross-Gower.
Three of the Directors are also certified checking engineers under the Jersey Building Control/Institute of Structural Engineers Registration (SER) Certification Scheme, as also adopted in Scotland.
Virtually all of our work is undertaken in Jersey, only occasionally using outside recourses either at peak times where elements can be out-sourced (such as reinforcement detailing) or where specialist advice is needed, In those circumstances we tend to work alongside Mott MacDonald, having built up an excellent working relationship over many years of successful projects.
The Practice is a Member of the following organisations:
- Association for Consultancy and Engineering
- Jersey Construction Council
- Jersey Federation of Consulting Engineers
- Jersey Chamber of Commerce & Industry
We are also working towards Level 2 Eco-active certification.
30 years in Practice
Since the practice was founded in 1981, we have undertaken a considerable range of projects from small remedial works to large multi-storey buildings, from courts to schools and from housing estates to numerous civil engineering projects. We have offered many individuals advice on the condition of their properties and the severity of apparent structural defects.
The practice highly values this range of projects and our Directors and Staff strongly believe in the ethos of providing a comprehensive and personal service. Overall we believe we can fully justify the claim that Ross-Gower Associates has and continues to provide a comprehensive Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy service to the whole local community.
