RGA was established following Mr Stephen Ross-Gower setting up as a sole practitioner in 1981. Work at that stage was relatively modest domestic work, structural surveys and miscellaneous civil engineering works. From that base the practice has grown to be one of the leading Civil/Structural Engineering practices in Jersey, employing 17 staff and having undertaken several projects in the £35m to £45m range.
RGA employs three certified checking engineers under the Jersey Building Control/Institute of Structural Engineers Registration (SER) Certification Scheme, as also adopted in Scotland.
Virtually all our work is undertaken in Jersey, although we have developed working relationships with larger UK firms for the cases where specialist advice is required. We appreciate that Jersey is a tightly-knit community, and that we are only as good as the objectives that we deliver on, therefore we pride ourselves on building long term, sustainable relationships with our clients, as well as the wider community through our various sponsorship and charitable initiatives.
As a practice we are focused on rationalising the design and build processes into their most efficient forms, based upon experience coupled with the latest technology, to provide our clients with pragmatic and value-engineered solutions. It is this approach that underpins our fundamental aim as a practice, which is to be the ‘Engineer of Choice’ for the Island’s Developers, Contractors and Homeowners.
