UPDATE - 30 MARCH 2020

RGA'S Office is now closed in support of the Government’s measures to restrict the spread of coronavirus; however, we are all working remotely, so please email or call us directly.  If you do not have individual contact details, please email admin@rga.co.je and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Keep safe.

Given the current circumstances, I am writing to outline RGA’s response strategy, which is aimed at both ensuring the welfare of our staff, whilst also maintaining an appropriate level of service to our clients.

As it stands, and following the latest official advice, we will be continuing to provide a full level of service from our office, operating throughout our usual weekday office hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm.  You are welcome to drop into our office for any project related discussions or meetings, although we will be keeping a log of any visitors for contact tracing purposes, and would kindly ask that our hand sanitiser is used upon arrival.

As part of our mitigation strategy, we are using software which enables every member of staff to gain remote access to their workplace computer from home, including project files and emails.  In the event therefore that any member of our staff is required to undertake a period of self-isolation, then they should be able to continue work on their current projects such that any adverse effect on any existing deadlines and commitments is kept to a minimum.

Similarly, in the worst case scenario whereby all of our employees are required to self-isolate, then symptom permitting we will all be working remotely from home, which again should ensure that any adverse project programme effects are kept to a practical minimum.  During such a period, telephone calls to the office would be diverted to an appropriate person, who would then transfer your call accordingly, and senior staff would also generally be available on their mobile phones during this period.

Clearly in the latter scenario some of our usual services would not be feasible, such as site visits/inspections and meetings generally, as well as issuing of any hard copy drawings, but we will endeavour to provide our clients with as high a level of support and service continuity as possible.

Guidance on how we should react to the situation is clearly changing on a daily basis, but if you have any specific concerns or related queries as to how our response may affect your project, then please do not hesitate to give me a call on one of the numbers below.  In the meantime, best wishes from all of the staff here at RGA, and we hope that you stay safe and well.

Kind Regards,

Consultant of the Year 2015

Established in 1981, we are one of Jersey's leading Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy firms.

Our scope of work includes commercial, leisure & residential projects for the States of Jersey, commercial organisations and private clients. We also undertake restoration projects, extensions, remedial works and public works contracts.

With over 35 years experience in the civil engineering business we have built up good working relationships with other local firms. We provide a professional yet personal service, which is tailored to clients requirements, whether undertaking a repair to a private house or a new building such as a school, block of flats or an office.

We're delighted to have been chosen as the Insurance Corporation Consultant of the Year 2015 by the JECC.

Civil & Structural Engineers

Thanks to our wide range of construction experience we are able to undertake a wide variety of work. Valuation Reports and Building Surveys often identify an apparent structural defect. We can provide the follow-up survey to advise on the significance of cracks or evidence of movement and detail any necessary repairs to buildings or drainage and prepare reports for insurers. New purchasers frequently want to undertake structural alterations and we can provide the service to obtain Bye-Law approval for minor structural internal alterations. On larger projects, or those involving external alterations which need Planning approval, as Structural Engineer we would work with your Architect to coordinate the structural work. Our civil engineering works extend to flood prevention schemes, drainage, highway maintenance and new estate roads and retaining structures. Contact us or send us an email for more information.
